Access and Parking
Access at the gate is via a combination code padlock – advised when you start.
Parking is in the area from the gate to the shop. No cars are to be parked on the central walkway to plots.
Gate etiquette – when you leave if there are no other cars remaining or visible plot-holders (some walk to their allotments) please close and padlock the gate behind you.
Rubbish
Please dispose of your own rubbish. Please do not add to the wood pile! Diseased/invasive plants are to be burnt or disposed of externally, not composted. Fires are allowed from 1 Oct to 30 April and must be attended until burned down and extinguished.
Shop
The Shop (green portacabin) is open on Sundays from 11 until 12.30 from March to September. The current price list 2024 is on display in the shop and is emailed to members at the start of each year. The shop stocks some 90+items to assist with cultivation of your plot.
Equipment
You can also hire a mower, rotovator, strimmer or hedge trimmer to maintain the grass or hedging around your plot. Note – Equipment hire is strictly at the hirer’s own risk.
5 WAGA wheelbarrows are kept at the back of the shop area – please don’t forget to put them back after using.
The greenhouse nearest to the shop and by the mower store is for communal use.
Water
Drinking water is available from the tap by the communal greenhouse and also the tap by plot 37. Other water fittings to the strategically positioned baths/tanks, which are for watering your plot, should not be disconnected as this can cause leaks. The water supply pipe runs along the front of Plots 21-40 at a shallow depth of 300mm, so please be careful not to disturb this. Sorry no hoses allowed, watering cans only.
Manure & Woodchips
Adjacent to the gate is a containment for horse manure supplied by the adjacent stables – help yourself! There is also a separate bay for ad-hoc supplies of wood chippings and again help yourself.
First Aid
A basic First Aid kit is located at the shop for minor emergencies, however it is suggested that plot-holders have their own First Aid items. The nearest defibrillator is located at Warlingham Community Library in Shelton Avenue.
Toilets
There are Public toilets on the common alongside Westhall Rd, approx 150m to the left and across the road when exiting.
